General
Do your filters work on a Mac?
We're sorry, but our filters are currently only available for the Windows platform. This is purely because we are a very small company and don't have the resources to develop for multiple platforms at the moment. We are keeping a keen eye on the marketplace, and will certainly consider Mac support in the future.
How come you're giving us some plug-ins for free?
Because we're nice like that.
Actually, the free filter range tend to be smaller ones we've developed in our spare time (like we have any) or for own use, and we don't see the need to charge for them.
We generate no income from these free plugins, although we do place adverts from other companies on our website in order to help pay hosting and development costs.
Is this spyware or adware?
Definitely not! We hate spyware, and would never distribute it.
We do recommend that you only download our software from our own server though; we can't be responsible for anything supplied by any third parties.
The only adverts in our products are simple links back to the Red Paw Media website - nothing more.
I found a bug! What do I do?
We always try to release bug-free products, but there are sometimes things that slip through the net. Please contact us as soon as possible, letting us know what you were doing when you found the problem, and we'll fix it.
How can I contact you?
To help avoid having our mailboxes filled with spam, we don't publish email addresses. However, you can easily contact us by filling in this form. We do our best to reply by email within 24 hours.
Buying Plug-Ins
How do I register one of your plug-ins?
To register one of our plug-ins, simply visit the payment page, select the filter you wish to buy, and click the "Pay now" button.
You will then be taken through to the PayPal site where you can pay securely online using your credit or debit card. You do not need to create a PayPal account to do this.
What do I get once registered?
You get an unlock code by email, immediately - no waiting around for us to process your order.
You get free, lifetime upgrades. If we update a filter, your unlock code will still work. There will never be any upgrade fees.
You get a warm, fuzzy feeling because you're helping a small company survive*.
Why do you accept payment by PayPal?
For simplicity. Many people have a PayPal account already (although you don't need to have or create one to pay by this method). It's totally secure.
PayPal doesn't work in my country, what should I do?
Please see the answer to the next question.
Why do you offer an alternative payment method?
Customers in some countries (eg South Africa) cannot use PayPal. We therefore offer an alternative payment method using SWREG - the oldest online software store in the world.
We still offer, and indeed recommend, paying by PayPal if you can. This is because EU residents will be charged VAT at 17.% by SWREG. Non-EU residents do not have to pay VAT.
How long will it be before I receive my unlock code?
As our payment system is completely automated, you will receive your unlock code immediately on confirmation of your payment. If you haven't had an email from us within a couple of hours, please contact us and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
How do I unlock the filter?
After buying a plugin, you will receive an email with a file attachment. Simply copy this file into the same directory as you installed the plugin, and restart your host application. The filter will automatically read your registration information from this file.
I lost my code and need it again, what do I do?
Don't worry - simply drop us a line giving your full name, email address and required products, and we'll send you a new code.
Troubleshooting
My registration code isn't working, what do I do?
In some of our earlier releases, there was a compiler bug that caused the registration file not to be found. If you have installed your registration file in the same folder as the filter (eg. fog.paw is in the same folder as RPM_Fog.8bf), please check that you have downloaded the most recent version of the filter.
If this fails, please contact support.
